Arrl 10 Ghz and Up Contest

Description of Operations

Friday, Sept 19

Met to discuss the plans for the next couple days. I moved my rig to VE4SA’s van.

Saturday, Sept 20

This day’s roving group consisted of VA3ECO, VE4SA, VE4BRE, and VE4GA. Our roving group headed south and west toward Miami, MB. Every 17-20 km, we’d stop and attempt contacts to VE4MA and VE4DDZ. Our roving group kept in touch via FM simplex on the 2m band, since many of us had capable mobile rigs or HTs.

Sunday, Sept 21

This day’s roving group consisted of VA3ECO, VE4SA, and VE4BRE. Our roving group went directly toward Hecla and to the northenmost point we were hoping to operate from. After a successful contact with VE4MA, we headed back south toward Lockport, making contacts every 17-20km. For most of these stops, we were able to also contact VE4DDZ and VE4GA, who were stationed in Grand Marais, MB.
